COMPLETE KITCHEN REFIT
– Prepare area for prestigious kitchen installation.
The customer contacted David Russo Building Services Ltd for a quotation and after inspecting the property and discussing in great depth the customer requirements; a quote was produced which the customer was happy to accept for the job to commence.All the kitchen units were to be removed, the wall dividing the kitchen and dining area was to be taken down and turned into an open-plan room. Walls and flooring and tiles to be all replaced with new.
A date was set between the office and the customer for the work to proceed. Allocation of men for the job, materials required and the time span of the job was reported to the customer, so they had full understanding of the job in hand.
During the work David Russo Building Services removed the first load bearing wall and provided the necessary steel support positioned within floor joists, which was not to be visible within ceiling line. A further wall dividing kitchen and dining room was removed as requested by the customer’s specification. The existing kitchen, floor tiles and wall tiles where then removed prior to carrying out all electrical and plumbing works. The next task was the plastering works to walls and ceilings ready for decoration followed by blocking in the former entrance door to kitchen from the hallway and creating a “dummy door” façade on hall way side, then to form a new entrance into kitchen in a new position, providing all support and carry out relevant remedial works. Finally came the installation of new flooring and the kitchen units.
With the demolition of the two load bearing walls, the client did not want the ceiling line interrupted by RSJ boxing. The client felt this spoiled the aesthetics of the area. The team achieved the desired ceiling with the use of steel bearers within the floor joists and installed 25 down lights and applied a plaster finish to the customer’s delight.
The end product produced a kitchen area which increased from its existing size of 15m² to an open plan living area of 40m² complete with inlaid plasma screen within a newly created recessed aperture.
The work from demolition to installation of the new kitchen was achieved within the allocated time allowed, with the main objective being to minimalise disruption to the clients and achieved a finished result that complimented the new high quality kitchen.
The client forwarded a hand written letter after the job was completed. All customer satisfaction correspondence is held at the David Russo offices for inspection by new clients. David Russo Building Services Ltd pride themselves on high levels of customer service and professionalism.
